Being adopted from Haïti at the age of 3 and growing up in a small predominantly white community in Flanders, Pouchka quickly learned how to take care of her own hair. She taught herself how to braid and twist her hair out of necessity.

Pouchka and her sister would constantly be playing with dolls and creating hairstyles on mannequin heads gifted by her aunt who had just finished cosmetology. Without realizing it, her love for hairstyling grew.

After finishing her film studies in Brussels, Pouchka slowly began to pursue a career in make-up and hairstyling, working on movies, television series, advertising and in fashion. Pouchka is best known for her versatility in working with all hair textures and skin tones.
