Form, Function, Fantasy - the Only F’s We Give

Meet MetalxWire, a Jamaican fine jewelry brand founded by Symoné Currie, and go behind the scenes of their campaign creative – led by Marleisse Stephens of The Belmont Agency and starring Shannon Chen-See Nehemiah as the model.

Through the use of precious and semi-precious stones and 18kt gold METALXWIRE crafts timeless and unconventional fine jewelry. MetalxWire rejects fleeting trends to opt in to modular elements and interchangeable pieces, intentionally crafted to be reinvented as jewelry mirrors your evolving self. Founded in 2021, with sustainability woven into their very fabric, the brand utilizes responsibly sourced gemstones and recycled gold to create made-to-order pieces that minimize waste.

Born in Jamaica, METALXWIRE’s Founder and Creative Director Symoné Currie was recognized by Lorraine Schwartz and the Natural Diamond Council as one of six emerging designers. Currie’s professional background in engineering informs the brand’s masterful craftsmanship. She’s received a lot of early endorsements not only for her design approach but for her utilization of recycled gold and her overall commitment to ethical, sustainable fine jewelry and diamonds.

Earlier this year, Symoné and I collaborated on a digital Valentine’s Day campaign inspired by self-love and starring Shannon Chen-See Nehemiah, poet, visual artist and model from Kingston, Jamaica. “They” say a healthy form of self-love is caring for oneself, accepting flaws, and seeking balance. But this campaign warranted a type of self-love that is a little greedy (think Rihanna’s diamond toe ring) and leans into decadence, indulging in diamonds, and pursuing sensual pleasures for one’s own sake.

Where to Shop METALXWIRE is sold globally at select retailers such as Greenwich St. Jewelers, Marissa Collections, 1st Dibs and through the Metal x Wire website.
